FAQ

Do you only see people in the state of California?

Yes. I'm only able to see clients residing in California due to my license restrictions

Can you write me accommodation letters for work or school?

No. An Autism assessment for disability benefits (e.g- Social Security, Long Term Disability, Short Term Disability) or school/workplace accommodations must be done by a Licensed Psychologist ( PhD or PsyD). As a Marriage and Family Therapist Associate, I'm unable to provide this service.

What if I can't afford it? Do you offer reduced fees?

Equity and access are extremely important to me and I want to make assessments accessible. If you need a reduced fee because of your financial circumstances, contact me and we can talk about the possibilities for reduced fee services. Additionally, these assessments are priced lower than assessments done by other professionals to help create better access to this service. To make assessments more accessible, please ask about our flexible payment plans.

Can I use my insurance?

I don't take insurance but I can offer you a super-bill to submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. Some insurance companies vary on how much or if they will reimburse for services. Check with your individual provider to see what they will reimburse for. Be aware that using your insurance requires a diagnosis on your health record.

What's the difference between this level of assessment and one done by a Psychologist or Doctor?

With appropriate additional training, Masters level therapists can diagnose Autism. I have received continuing education training related to adult Autism diagnosis and I engage in regular consultation with other professionals. A diagnosis by a masters level clinician such as myself are not recognized as a medical diagnosis for certain agencies and government entities. A doctor or psychologist have degrees, certifications and licenses that are nationally recognized to be honored in medical settings and government agencies like Social Security and disability.
